The world should prepare for a long war in Ukraine. The Russian aggression will not end in 2024 or 2025, the Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans is convinced. According to him, Russia has enough military power to fight a long and intense war.

  1. I agree. This is why I believe NATO needs to get directly involved in this war to tip the scales decisively in Ukraine’s favour. At the very least, NATO needs to send enough equipment to outfit all 14 of the proposed Ukrainian brigades.

  2. The world should enable the timely destruction of the rossian state.

  3. So it’s cool to upload AI videos to Reddit. Nice job, these videos hold no value.

  4. Can the mods do something about this account? It’s always posting AI-voiced (and maybe AI-generated) videos with no sources. Surely we can be smarter than the Russians?

  5. I won’t watch that. But on the general topic of this being long and drawn out, Nato, the West, and the USA need to stop dicking around with aid and actually seriously, properly arm and allow Ukraine to take this war to completion ASAP. The current policy a massive mistake, IMO.

  6. Every single military target in Russia must be destroyed.

  7. If there is a bridge or airfield in Russia then it should no longer be…. For all of humanity … make it no longer be a bridge or an airfield.

It is better that it is a pile of dirt that used to be a bridge or airfield… until the day Russia withdraws. Then on that day, there can be plenty of bridges and airfields.

  8. This seems like fearmongering. No, russia is toast if harris wins in nov, putin is hemmoraging money by purchasing rubles to keep its value up, desperate for a good offramp. Gazprom operates at a loss. Russia had another brain drain that will impact their society for generations. It’s not sustainable and he is hoping trump can give him the donbas. Watch what happens in the winter, when fair negotiations are initiated after harris’ victory.

  9. It’s a blessing in disguise. The state of NATO was deplorable before the war, god only knows where the annual budget was spent. Finally the west is waking up realising they can no longer rely on US military support, Russian commodities and Chinese manufacturers. EU will become a rising superpower or perish.

  10. Depends, the democrats in America clearly want to pump their war machine up and are looking for any excuse to grow the old fashioned way. The Maga party seems to have a different idea so I guess you will see.

  11. Another few weeks and Ukrainian forces will be in downtown Moscow.

  12. It will continue until the American election. Then, it will continue until the agenda of the new government is set and put into practice. If they either match or step up support, there’s a good chance it will enter true stalemate in 2025. If support ends, Russia will probably keep the meat grinder going until Europe runs out of supply, or willingness of aid.

In my opinion, unless we see a giant step forward in European armament and support, the best Ukraine can hope for in 2025 is a stalemate. I’m no fan of trump, but he was definitely right in calling out the European lack of willingness to spend money in their own defense. Even now, with an active war of aggression in Europe, we’re seeing defense budgets tick up by less than 1% in a lot of cases.

All of this does not bode well for Ukraine. Time is not on their side, and they don’t have the resources to take the initiative.

    Sad times.

  13. Been following the long war since 2014. What’s another 10 years?
