I’m aware the design stems from some cultural symbols from the Sámi people. However I just like the simplicity and wondered if would be shamed if I got it?

  1. If you want the tattoo then go for it. The Sámi people tend to get offended by practically anything even remotely related to them or their culture so I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

I know, it is probably a small and loud minority that gets offended, just like it is for most groups of people.

  2. Just get it, if anyone comes onto you for it just say you have the blessing of Ukko and Tapio both.

  3. Just get it and if someone starts whining tell them to fuck off.

  4. There is no such thing as “cultural appropriation”.

I like the first and fifth desings, the first being the best. Nice idea, go for it!

  5. Why should we bother here of such nonsense as “cultural appropriation”?

  6. Get it. You should never be so close to other people that they’re able to see your tattoos.

  7. I would not get these as a non-Sámi person but that’s just me

  8. Nah, seems like cultural appreciation, youre good 👍👍

  9. This is Finland. No one cares! Do what you Wish!

  10. FYI a lot of the things claimed by sámi nationalists are actually much broader Finno-Ugric symbolism.

  11. You should ask Sami people if cqre sbout their feelings, ignore all “normal” Finns. I guess there are not many Sami people here.

  12. never heard that someone owns reindeer symbols. like askin if i can tattoo a sun or a fish on my skin
