Poem by Shelley:

Music, when soft voices die,
Vibrates in the memory—
Odours, when sweet violets sicken,
Live within the sense they quicken.

Rose leaves, when the rose is dead,
Are heaped for the belovèd’s bed;
And so thy thoughts, when thou art gone,
Love itself shall slumber on.

Footage has been published of a Russian underground military base in the Kherson region. The base is used for re-equipping, retraining and combat training of personnel of the Dnipro group of troops. The base is reportedly located at a depth of about 8 meters, it is camouflaged and almost impossible to detect from drones and satellites. There are places for soldiers to rest, classrooms, a weapons room, a utility room, a bathhouse, a shower, a kitchen, a dining room, storage and living quarters. The main purpose of the base is to restore the combat capability of units that have been on the front lines for a long time.

  5. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to increase the size of Russia’s Armed Forces by the large number of threats to the country and the West’s hostile attitude.

"This was triggered by the multitude of threats existing for our country along our borders. This is triggered by an extremely hostile situation on western borders and instability on eastern borders," the Kremlin official told journalists. According to him, the situation "required taking appropriate measures."

On Monday, Putin decreed to set the number of personnel in the armed forces at the level of 2,389,130 people, including 1,500,000 servicemen. In the previous decree on this matter, which the new document recognizes as invalid, this figure was 2,209,130 people, including 1,320,000 servicemen.

  6. James, why don't we let that gigantic intellect, the benevolent and wise, Victor Orban to dictate a loving caring loving fair ultra fast peace agreement. Let's get behind Trump…..oh what a brilliant example of really standing up to Putin, who is a true friend and loving mentor. My eyes are watering. Ah such a seriously worded statement here. Sob. Sob gnash.

  9. Delusional. Russia is squeezing Ukraine out of Kursk on all sides, Ukraine makes a small advance in one area and that’s the headline. Ukraine doesn’t have any Russian troops “trapped”. Do not get your Ukraine news here. So many better sites out there.

  10. anyone wanna know whether this is true ? Ukraine the Latest seems to tell us what we want to hear (that Russia is losing …)

how many Russian cities have been damaged ? what damage ? how many Ukrainian cities have been damaged ? what damage ?

is Russia really going to lose this war ? especially when they have nukes …

sure China has drawn a line in terms of first strike, but if Moscow is actually threatened ( not just a lonesome drone) Xi may concede that it’s fair play ?

why wouldn’t it be fair play ? will Europe really risk a nuclear confrontation with Russia rather than throw Zelensky-the-hopeful-comedian under the bus ?

are Europe’s economic interests centered around the donbas right now ? what’s innit for them ?

of course the USA’s interests are to keep this war going as long as possible as they’re selling arms to Europe faster than they can make them …

how long will it take Europe to delink themselves from the collapse of American hegemony? realise that India, China, Russia and Iran etc have 62% of the world’s population vs the USA’s 4.4% ?

  11. Catching up on a few missed episodes. Each reminder that David's gone is a fresh wound, but as well, each remembrance helps to heal. Thanks to all the contributors.
