A loan move either in January or next summer could be an option for Mathys Tel if he doesn’t recommend himself for more minutes through performances in the coming months. This summer, both the club and the player consciously decided to stay in Munich after the contract extension until 2029

  1. Yeah would be the best option for both sides and the new club should play him as a number 9!!!

  2. There is no real chance of him starting over Kane, so a loan move would benefit him a lot. Preferably in Winter to a club who plays internationally.

  3. Would be the best possible solution to gain match experience and then replace Müller in summer 2025 or 26 (in terms of squad spot, ofc no one can replace Müller).

  4. He should just get his minutes, Kane should be rested, we can’t make the same mistake we made last season, right? What happens if Kane gets injured?

    I don’t want to see Kane limp out in the CL semis again because he had to play every single game and Tel is talented enough to play the 9.

  6. I think he should play way more but where? For whom? He does nothing wrong but the timing is bad for him. On the other hand what happens if Kane ever gets injured?

    For him surely better
    For us better when he is a bit stronger

    For us hard if kane is injured
    For him good to have highest quality training

    I prefer a system where he plays 20-25% instead of Kane, and 5-10% instead of winger

  8. I know it’s a near impossible solution because Kane just cannot be benched, but I’d really like Tel just get more minutes as a striker instead of sending him on loan. Either as a starter in cup matches and against weaker opponents or as a sub to get 20-30 minutes (or even 45) in matches that are already decided. For example, he could have easily played the last 20-30 minutes against Dinamo which would have got him some UCL game time and quite possibly a goal or assist as well.

    I could also imagine trying a two striker formation with Kane dropping deeper as a false 9 and Tel being the poacher. I’m sure there are solutions where Tel could play more, I think the issue is that it would mean deprioritizing other important players. However, we have to face the issue head on, a loan wouldn’t solve much. He either comes back a year later and we’ll have the same situation or he’ll end up staying there for good. Neither is something I want.

  10. I think at this point, we should prioritise settling into the season with good form, not needing to prioritise minutes for our younger talents.

    However in league games that are being dominated or even cup ties, players like Tel should have regular time

  11. I don’t get why Kane plays 90min when we are already winning by a lot, just give Tel some time at striker

    Feel for Tel deserves better, must be tough watching Yamal ball out at 17 while you get to rot on the bench.

  13. Despite him getting more minutes with us: I would love to see him get loaned to St Pauli this winter. We really need a striker. Please, please.

  15. I love Tel, but he needs to play as a striker. He’s losing some of what makes him special by trying to fit out wide. We need him ready to take over for Kane eventually. An 18 month loan would be great.

  16. Chill out, long season just started. He will get his minutes.

  17. With the amount of matches the team has to play this season, squad rotation is very necessary. He should be given chances in the league otherwise, we will suffer in the long run if injuries occur.
