Westminster is in a gossip frenzy after the BBC revealed that Sue Gray, the Keir Starmer’s chief of staff, asked for and was given a salary of £170,000 – £3,000 more than the PM. Now leaks, power struggles and disgruntled advisers are dominating the headlines.

It all comes as Sir Freebies himself is under fresh scrutiny for accepting more hospitality from donor Lord Alli, with the Telegraph revealing that Starmer used his £18m penthouse on multiple occasions.

  1. It seems more and more in UK politics that others, rather than those elected, are pulling the strings. eg Rebekah Brooks, Dominic Cummings etc.

  2. Is this a serious question? Just the same that has been going on for decades. What’s going on is corruption and businesses and individuals buying influence over government decision making. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
