It looks like the article’s been updated since this headline was originally published. It now says “Fifth time’s a charm as former defense minister finally wins Japan ruling party leadership contest and will become country’s next leader” and only has a smaller mention about Sanae Takaichi who was “vying to become Japan’s first woman leader”.
