  1. As a Gen X’er from the U.S., Maggie Smith and Judi Dench were the faces that appeared in your mind when someone said “British, Shakespearean actresses”

    Then, it was cool to see Dame Maggie be funny, acerbic, and witty later in life.

    I couldn’t have imagined the lady in “Merchant of Venice” and “A Room With A View” making an appearance in “Harry Potter” movies. It proved how versatile she was.

    I love cinema and, because of that, I loved Maggie Smith.

    It is a sad day for moviegoers with an appreciation for classic cinema.
