20. If people think this is accidental, they’re mistaken. West Bank has been staying the hell out of the conflict as much as humanly possible, and good for them.

    Hizbollah, or at least what’s left of Hizbollah, wants the West Bank dragged in. They want to open a new front against Israel, and they’re furious at the Fatah government for not being interested in joining a war that, due to not being involved in the 10/7 attack in any way, they have the option to stay out of.

    The irony of potentially bringing in what is arguably one of the 2 current Palestinian states in *on the side of Israel* would be hilarious, but they’re counting on the Palestinians in the West Bank to refuse to side with Israel and radicalize onto their side instead. We’ll see how that goes.

    But this attack was definitely deliberate, it was a warning shot to Fatah that neutrality might just mean getting crushed by both sides at once.
