  1. > “When we sat down with Netflix we made it clear that we wanted this out before the election,” Ferrell told me at the film’s Los Angeles premiere. “We wanted it to have enough runway for people to get to see it and hopefully start having important discussions in their living rooms.”

    > “We’ve heard from people who say they can’t wait to see this with friends and family who maybe don’t share the same viewpoint and they’re looking forward to watching it all together,” Ferrell said. “Hopefully it could slowly chip away at some of that.”

  2. I miss funny or die days when comedians focused on comedy personally

  3. I watched this last night, and really loved it. I hope a lot of people see it, because it totally wasn’t what I expected but I loved it.

  4. It’s wonderful. I often think, if people could just meet and see the joy of someone’s transition, they would never be so hateful. Naive maybe but also, education matters. This is a chance to educate and I’m grateful to them for being brave enough to do it.

  5. I absolutely loved this. I live in an area with a lot of trans people, so I know a good deal just by talking to people in my community, but there were a lot of things that Harper said that I hadn’t intuited (or never really felt it was right to ask). It’s really powerful and really lovely–very moving. Will Ferrell also just comes across as a really solid dude.

  6. Great. Creating division and getting people distracted from more important matters than ignorance and petty judgdement. We are all unemployed, cant afford healthcare, drowning in debt and depression, have no savings AND EVEN IF WE COULD FIND DECENT EMPLOYMENT it still wouldnt be enough to live.

But yeah, let’s make the election about a super rich white tramswoman and her megasuperstar bajillionaire best friend. Bout time we start having some important conversations that liberal ideology is useless if we are all in poor health and getting exploited, abused, and harassed by every corporation every chance they get.

Because then this endless obsessing about cultural/racial/sexual identity is nothing more than a money making rouse by the elite leadership of the left who couldnt give a shit about conditions on the ground. Not that the right is any better. both awful
But this… this is fucking cynical and insulting

  7. If you’re into attacking transgender people, I don’t want to know you. I have no idea why people think they’re in the wrong gender. But I also know it’s not my business.

  8. Racist homes don’t have intelligent discussions

Just a legacy of stupidity passed down to each generation of being a hateful moron

  9. Such a beautiful documentary. Watching the friendship and the love no matter what. It’s such a great feeling.

  10. Watching it literally right now and so far and it’s truly touching.

  11. It’s pretty good! Had insomnia last night and enjoyed this flick

  12. I watched it last night and it showcased transsexualism at a very personal and honest level. The struggles trans people have are very real and it helps understand why the Republican-led assault on trans Americans is all the more pernicious.

  13. Is it another gaslighting, disingenuous, Hollywood-fabricated, hyperbolically liberal, unrealistic “documentary” piece of propaganda?

    If so, I’ll pass.

Is it aging actors who are realizing the fantasy they push to the masses as a liberal democracy of hope and joy has actually become a heavily-corrupted (by both liberal & conservative war mongers) corporatist-run oligarchy that has zero interest in preserving a common culture or way of life for the vast majority of the population of normal, regular Americans? With a call to action to vote for the only candidate who is even actually mentioning these captured agencies, despite the fact he likely won’t get much done against them, but who is at the very least willing to shine the dimmest of lights on the issue and acknowledge its existence—Donald Trump?

    If so, I’m in.

  14. Will seemed to lose the glean of silly. I think it’s really cool he’s leveraging his hilarity and power towards something so cool. The powers that be always attack small groups of people. I’m looking forward to watching this movie

  15. watched it last night. very sweet movie that offers a lot of laughs and plenty to think about

  16. My wife and I watched it last night. It was great. Perfectly relatable, uplifting, a bit of a tear jerker, but generally a fun time. It really highlighted the contrast of how people treat each other in-person vs how they’re treated online. Definitely worth watching.

  17. I started this last night! It is refreshingly honest, and really heart warming; a true testament to real friendship. I was sad I had to turn it off to get some stuff done.

  18. I really hope so, but I can help feeling that there aren’t a lot of people undecided on whether we should have rights, the people who really need to see it of course will refuse to.
