Yes, people will associate it with Flemish nationalism even if it’s not meant like that.
Educated people know that the lion with [red claws and a red tongue are just the official Flemish flag](https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vlag_van_Vlaanderen). It’s the pure black one that’s associated with Vlaams Belang, separatism, collaboration and shit.
For less educated people, they might not know the difference.
