I love languages and how they connect us with our past. Yes ulster scots has been weaponised by certain politicians but I hope anyone genuinely interested in the history of this island can look past their shite.

Thanks OP. This was a genuinely good watch, well above the usual politically weaponized shite that gets posted about Ulster Scots in this sub. It’s a shared dialect that isn’t exclusive to one side of the political divide any more than Irish is exclusive to the other side. Both are insights into our past, our mix of cultures, and celebration of both should be encouraged if we are ever going to live and thrive side by side.
