New ‘Gnom’ robot repelling Russians in Ukraine
Ukraine has a new ground-based robot hitting the battlefields, and talk about a multifunctional platform. The unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) is just the latest semi-autonomous device developed by Ukrainian domestic manufacturers.
The Ground Robotic Fire Support Platform is built by Ukraine’s Temerland Military Solutions, and nicknamed the “Gnom.” But it’s certainly not something you’d want to find in your garden.
The Gnom itself is essentially just a drone dolly. Able to be remotely operated from more than a mile away, it can also use on-board GPS guidance to travel to a target area and is designed to operate in environments where electronic warfare countermeasures are being used.
Each Gnom is outfitted with several cameras for navigation and surveillance, and they can perform a number of different missions: everything from simple intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, supply delivery, helping haul injured soldiers off the battlefield — even mine laying and fire support missions.
Of course, sometimes you don’t know exactly what you’ll encounter, and it’s best to just strap as much kit as you can onto a platform, which is what Temerland did recently.
In a video posted to the company’s Facebook page, a Gnom is seen outfitted with a belt-fed machine gun, some RPGs, and carrying a couple of anti-tank mines and one anti-personnel mine. Pretty much everything but the kitchen sink.
The video was taken while Temerland was testing the beast-mode Gnom before sending it to the front lines, where it will be put through the rigors of actual combat.
After two and a half years of fighting, the Ukrainian armed forces are facing serious shortfalls in manpower. So, tools like the Gnom, which can be used in swarms as well, are seen as the type of force multipliers needed for Ukraine to win against Russia.
Of course, Temerland is not the only drone company developing new tools in Ukraine. As Straight Arrow News reported previously, there are dozens of startups in Ukraine right now developing autonomous vehicles for nearly every domain of war.

This channel is awesome!
Ukraine has made armaments for four hundre years. When the Germans invaded, many factories located in Urkaine were relocated to Russia as far east as the Ural Mountains.
It's a remote control car with machine gun. Not a robot.
How to solve the manpower issue I see…
I find these weapons necessary but also disgraceful and lacking if any honor but that’s where wars been going hard for the last 100 years.
If this stuff becomes more common it’ll take almost all honor out of war but also focus power towards a few.
Imagine a small group of expert drone operators controlling millions of drones…. Imagine the power one man could have if he controlled that group.
What do you think a 'robot' is? The term 'drone' doesn't apply either, but that's the name. Drones aren't bees and they don't operate autonomously. They are augmented cyborgs technically, because they transmute a human mind and senses into a remotely operated artificial body with little plastic limbs. But a cyborg is a cyborg.
was used already in the losing battle of Avdiivka in the tsar hunt. Russian spitznaz just dig under it and surfaced behind since the robot cannot since if someone is right behind it
Skynet…
Metal Gear real life
Did you really start with "This handsome little fella" I support Ukraine but let's not act like a killing machine is cute.
it's crap!
Weapons jam, then what? Your robot is 400 meters out engaging enemy and it jams so do you drive it back and yield the position? Or do you risk going out to clear it? For CQB it is fine because it will be in close proximity to friendly forces.
Sick US giving Ukraine weapons
Show me combat stuff

😂😂😂
Nothing to do with sortage of manpower and everything to do with preserving life, if a drone can do the job instead of a human. Unlike ruSSian nazis who just throw meat at a brick wall and wonder why it’s not working 😂
Totally false. Way to small. Totally not capable
Democrats destroy America
Smert rashestam!
Cool. Ukraine has better equipment than the U.S. military !
"range of a little over a mile" so when they appear it's sort of obvious to carpet b*mb a mile radius …
it's a square but it's a lot of acreage to blast when they appear:
"Square Miles (mi2) Acres (ac)
2 = 1280"
EDIT : maybe half that [or less] because they'd be operated from the frontal direction most likely, and it's radius not sides…
Russia has a tanker with 20,000 TONS of fertilizer docked on top of 500,000 lbs of sunken ww2 ordnance type stuff , maybe docked next to oil tankers and crap…
proxy wars until the end of man
In urban and the ruble of what Russia leaves behind in their wake a selective ammunition shotgun platform would be an interesting advance.
being able to go from a hardened core penetrator to an air or impact burst fragmentation to simple buck shot to sweep hallways or trench lines, as well as smoke to mark targets or provide cover for advancing units.
Slava Ukraine! Russians go home!
Command and conquer US Robot general is real now
