Lebanon: Hezbollah pager explosions injure thousands, several people dead | DW News

Lebanon’s health minister says more than 2,500 people have been injured after pagers used by the Hezbollah militia group exploded simultaneously across the country.

Hezbollah fighters and medics are among the wounded. Several deaths have also been reported. Iranian media say that Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon has been injured. Hezbollah says it’s investigating the cause of the blasts. Israel has declined to comment.

  2. In Lebanon: "Hezbollah fighters among the wounded or dead."
    In Gaza: "Women and children among the dead." Something certainly doesn't add up.

  12. Who's the real terror regime now, Hezbolla or Netanjahu?
    If Israel would admit to the attacks (which of course they'll never do because they're cowards) the west would have to stop every support immediately, at least if it cared about the Geneva Conventions.

  29. We forget that these devices were distributed by hezbollah. A group that has in its horitzon the destruction of Israel, but they need a way to justify it to their population and the world. Why did you discard the option of them doing it and just put Israel as most likely perpetrator? We also know these groups use their population as human shields for their goals.

  34. Israel hat eine Operation durchgeführt, bei der eine unbekannte Zahl von Pagern zu kleinen Bomben umfunktioniert wurden, die alle gleichzeitig gezündet wurden. Das war per Definition ein Terroranschlag, bei dem Zivilisten getötet wurden. Ab wann darf man von einem "Terrorstaat" sprechen?
    Mir fehlt die Empörung über eine solche Handlung
