As far as I understand, playing online poker in Poland is illegal. But why the Pokerstars platform is available then in Poland?

I found the following website regarding this topic:
https://igamingpolska.pl/problematyczny-status-quo-jak-nowelizacja-ustawy-hazardowej-wepchnela-pokera-online-do-prawnej-prozni/

So is playing online poker in Poland illegal or is there a kind of "gray zone"?

  1. Poland is one big coruption country..

Hazzard is illegall however you can see every day in TV lottery Called Lotto and rest thier stuff in some shop/checkpoint.

Look like some peoples have good body guard in goverment and they dare to pratice hazzard with out consequences.

Same as Football when you can BET who will win and lose STS or Fortuna service.
If you wanna only play as player you will be fine just dont proud talk it lound and you supose be 1000% safe.

I guess they special block something in poland for make it later monopoly even it its illegall. for myself mate.
Where hand clean other hand ;/

Somes bank also like ask from where you have money if you bring a lot money from outside.. also block account if they figure out its come out from Bitcoints market .. so i preffer use paypal or other provident or set acc Bank out of poland where you can easy transfer money directly.

  2. there are some “solutions” you could look into like paypall or revolut; you can’t add your polish credit card tho, since gambling is illigal in Poland (unless its not – like lotto and casinos, lol)

  3. > But why the Pokerstars platform is available then in Poland?

Because Poland isn’t censoring the internet. However, that platform does not have the proper paperwork to operate in Poland and by availing yourself of its services one would be commiting a felony.

A list of legally operating online betting and casino platforms is here, it’s pretty short: https://www.podatki.gov.pl/pozostale-podatki/gry-hazardowe/zaklady-wzajemne-i-gry-hazardowe-przez-internet/

  4. online gambling is not allowed in poland, unless the website is owned by the goverment.

the exception is granted to online sport betting, which can have a license from the minister of finance.

gambling on foreign websites is also forbidden.

here: [https://www.podatki.gov.pl/pozostale-podatki/gry-hazardowe/zaklady-wzajemne-i-gry-hazardowe-przez-internet/](https://www.podatki.gov.pl/pozostale-podatki/gry-hazardowe/zaklady-wzajemne-i-gry-hazardowe-przez-internet/) is a list of all licensed sport betting websites, and at the bottom two websites owned by Totalizator-Sportowy, which is goverment-owned.

Online gambling on any website other than the ones in the link above is illegal.

the laws about gambling, including online gambling are contained in
“Ustawa z dnia 19 listopada 2009 r. o grach hazardowych” with many changes since then.
