Russian troops capture Ukrainian town of Vuhledar

Moscow’s troops have raised the Russian flag above buildings in the frontline town of Vuhledar, marking the fall of a Ukrainian stronghold once considered an impregnable “fortress”.

Its capture hands Vladimir Putin his most significant battlefield victory since his forces took control of Avdiivka in February.

Vuhledar sits on high ground above an important east-west road, which could be used as a launchpad to attack other Ukrainian military transport hubs to the west.

Analysts have said this victory will be seen as a vindication of the Kremlin’s grinding mass infantry tactics that have seen its forces make steady gains along the frontline, at great cost, over the past 12 months.

  1. But but.. British media was saying for 2 years that Russia is "losing the war".. out of soldiers and with supplies issues of weapons. What's going on here? Didn't Russians were losing badly. NATO "Game changing" weapons not enough l it seems to defeat Russia.

  2. The Russians didn’t capture Vuhledar. The Ukrainians are advancing backwards, it’s all part of a victorious strategy. Plus the Russians have run out of ammunition.

  3. Well done 🪖🎖🇷🇺🏆

  4. They captured Vuhledar and encircled hundreds of troops defending it. They controlled the two dirt roads towards Bogoyavlenka and anything goes in and out of Vuhledar gets killed by artillery and drones. No evacuation vehicles reached Vuhledar that's why after Ukrainian command announced a retreat from Vuhledar, The troops had to walk on foot towards Bogoyavlenka in small groups. Obviously most will not made it back to that village.
Usually another brigade like AZOV will come to save the encircled troops, but no one arrived to help the 72nd brigade in Vuhledar.

  5. Crimea is not important…………Vuhledar is not important………..Kiev is not important………….Ukraine is not important…………….Europe is not important 🫡 🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺

  6. Russia took this long to make the gains they should have made in the first month… There is no way Russia has a chance against NATO…

  8. Ugledar has an important strategic importance, it is located on a hill, it allowed the Ukrainian troops to shell an important railroad for Russia, which connected the eastern and southern fronts, as well as a major railroad junction in Volnovakha. This means that it will be easier for Russia to supply its troops in this direction, as well as the loss of Ugledar will fold the defense of Kurakhovo, it will be under pressure from the Russian army from two directions – from the east and south.

What militarily did the attack on Russia's Kursk region give Ukraine? Nothing but casualties.

  9. they have left the whole brigade there on their own, the city was encircled for a week if say the least and no one have given them orders to withdraw, they lost at least ~1000 soldiers there just to hold it for a few additional days, pathetic. It hurts me to see how they treat their own men as daily consumables.

P.S. but it's okay, TCK will bring more unfortunates, whoever they manage to catch

P.P.S. Probably we don’t understand anything and this all is just part of the “victory plan”
