My little project

  1. Well, I guess it works. If you don’t account for where any of the stations actually are in real life. Looks nice, though.

  2. I wish they went ahead with this.. what’s the significance of the names in bold?

  3. I suspect having multiple southern branches will reduce reliability rather than enhance it by providing a form of redundancy, at least on lines shared with other services. Shepperton ought therefore be cut, optionally replacing it with Woking.

I’m not convinced by Crossrail 2 trying to relieve the Northern Line (as well as the Victoria Line) – it risks instead delivering *more* passengers to it in the south.

I’d therefore cut both Balham and Angel. A Wimbledon – Clapham Junction – Victoria route is perfectly straight and would speed everyone else’s journeys.

The money saved can be put towards properly improving the Northern Line, namely extending it to Clapham Junction and on to Clapham South or Balham. I’d have the Bank branch terminate at whichever of those stations is chosen, and have (only) the Battersea&Charing branch serve the other stations down to Morden.

The relatively limited relief seen on the Central Line post-Elizabeth Line shows you must quite closely follow an existing line to “fix” it.

I’d therefore take Crossrail 2 to Finsbury Park instead of Dalston. As part of that re-alignment, the proposed Euston St Pancras is too far from the other underground lines to be a useful interchange so should instead span Euston Square + Euston. I’d also cut the New Southgate branch (Broxbourne has sufficient space for the depot) and go much further north along the Anglia Line. Surplus trains could optionally be sent to Stratford and maybe Chingford too over the existing Lea Bridge line.

  4. Nice work, though I really hope they don’t call it that…

  5. Yo please let SW into the zones. We are closer than east Croydon ….
