  1. Chemicals have been released into the water, likely due to actions taken by certain governmental bodies. The consequences of this are alarming; there is a real danger that people could consume contaminated water or even sell tainted products for profit. This could lead to serious health issues, and tragically, some individuals may suffer severe illnesses or even lose their lives. We must raise awareness and advocate for accountability to protect our communities from such dangers, and pray that this situation is addressed before it escalates further

  2. The smell is unbearable and the amount of fish doesn't seem to be decreasing, there was only one big thunderstorm this year, and they are saying all these fish are from a big lake that the waters poured into the ocean after last year's floods, and they died since the couldn't handle salt water (what the news say)

  3. “Therefore the land shall mourn and be diminished with all the things that dwell in it: the wild beasts of the field, the reptiles of the earth, and the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea shall come to an end.” Hosea 4:3 (SAAS).

  5. A lot of people seem to be misinformed. The reason is the attempts to dry the nearby lake of Karla by diverting the water into pagasitikos bay. There were attempts to dry out the lake in the past which was heavily polluted and had heavy levels of eutrophism. After the flooding of september 2023 the water levels increased substantially resulting in the multiplication of the fish population. With the water levels decreasing many of the fish died due to insufficient oxygen and ended up in Volos. Also some of the fish might have been led there alive by the current but ended up dying because they are not suited for salt water.
