  1. Ireland being overly dramatic about what was actually requested in order to simp for Israel’s enemies is 100% on brand.

Outside the ARW, their military is almost entirely performative.

  2. 20 years of failing to enforce 1701 but allowing Hezbollah to shell Israel we refuse to move now so that Israel can defend itself.

    That’s insane

  3. > the villages they are defending

I’m sorry, UNIFIL is defending something? This is beyond pathetic…

    > They’re very professional, brave, they’re courageous, they’re honourable, they’re in the best tradition of UN peacekeeping.

Straight out of a Monty Python sketch.

  4. Article 1701 which UN peacekeepers are there under the condition that Israel leave Lebanon and the UN peacekeepers and Lebanon military are the only armed forces south of the Litani River.

Israel did leave Lebanon. Hezbolah didn’t leave.

  5. Peacekeepers????

Where are these peacekeepers as Hezbollah fires 11,000 missles and rockets into Israel?

If all you do is hang around as one side shoots at the other, and then refuse to get out of the way as the other side starts shooting back, you aren’t a peacekeeper….

  6. Those peacekeepers failed their mission in every possible way, and now Ireland decided to leave them there, risking their lives, just to annoy Israel

  7. “Tánaiste and Minister for Defence Micheál Martin said the safety of Irish troops remained the highest priority” … _butttt_ you need to hold your positions that are within 2k of Hezbollah. There’s a reason we placed you two within a 2 minute walk of each other.

  8. How are they threatening peacekeepers when they specifically asked them to leave the area?

  9. >the IDF “made a request through different channels to have some Unifil troops move from areas of military activity for their own protection and safety.

    >“Let it be clear that the safety of peacekeeping forces is of immense importance to Israel. To attempt to characterise this as a threat to Unifil forces is another unfounded and inflammatory accusation levelled at Israel, as we have seen in the past months.”

    >The embassy said “it should be remembered that for almost a year, the people of northern Israel have been under relentless bombardment by Hizbullah, forcing entire communities to flee their homes, a grim reality no other country would have suffered for so long. Israel has a duty and an obligation to protect its citizens and will act accordingly.”

When this explanation is pushed to the Middle or Bottom of the article, that’s when you know the article’s biased.

  10. There’s definitely something outrageous going on here!

  11. Yep, nice. Now pull out your “peacekeepers”.

    Reality has caught up.

  12. Ireland is beyond sanctimonious on everything relating to Israel.

  13. The UN should stop playing terrorist protectorate and enabler.

  14. Ireland playing a stupid game with the lives of their soldiers

  15. This is the guy who said a little girl was “lost, now found” when she was kidnapped by Hamas?

  16. I’d say it’s outrageous there are people calling themselves “peacekeepers” on the Lebanon-Israel border, considering the last year.

  17. Ireland, friend of the country that actively persecutes women, continues to fight for relevance on the world stage.

  18. Well, let’s be realistic here. Our first problem was trying to take an Irish politician seriously on the international stage.

    Moving on.

  19. Higgins, for the last 20 years your “peace keepers” did nothing but turn a blind eye as Hizbollah armed themselves to the teeth in violation of UN 1701.

    They were utterly useless.

Israel is trying to keep the useless UN people safe.

    You should thank Israel, Higgins.

  20. It seems the ‘peacekeepers’ were not able to stop Hezbollah acting Israel with rockets and other.lomg range weapons, while they insist to prevent Israel from stopping the attacks. Moreover, the peacekeepers have failed to enforce UN Resolution which calls for a demilitarised zone in southern Lebanon, something Hezbollah has long ignored.

  21. I would love him to go into detail about how unifil did anything to prevent the daily bombing Israel took for a year before going into Lebanon.

  22. Maybe if these useless fucks actually enforced 1701 instead of watching Hezbollah fire rockets into Israel, they are complicit

  23. The only thing Irish peace keepers do in Lebanon:

  24. Aren’t “peacekeepers” supposed to keep peace? Try, at least? Just asking

  25. If those “Peace keepers” weren’t protecting terrorist weapons then I guess they wouldn’t be threatened now would they Ireland? FFS

  26. They aren’t peace keepers though, they’ve allowed Hezbollah to target Israel with impunity, they are more like war keepers. That UN mission is a total failure and it’s costing tax payers millions.

  27. Israel is one of, if not the only country to publicly tell the populace where their military will be or where they will strike. All other times throughout history civilians have been simply a casualty of war. But still the media tries their damnedest to make them vicious, horrible, unfeeling monsters. It’s sickening.

  28. These peacekeepers failed their job for 20 years and Israel want their safety

  29. Ireland can fuck off. They’ve taken a really fucked take on this whole thing.

  30. Israel rescued the peacekeepers when the syrian civil war started

no one protected the peacekeepers but Israel

read and cross research to get the whole picture

  31. They aren’t even keeping the peace there tho, they straight up aren’t doing their jobs.

Seems like the UNIFIL has been unable to do its job of demilitarising hezbollah.

  33. Eagríocht sceimhlitheoireachta, coimhthioch le Liobháin agus drongadóirí is eadh an Hizbullah. Tá siad ina sciúirse ar daoine Liobháin agus níl siad ach ag buanaghadh idé-eolaíocht antaoisceach. Úsáidid mullánna do chuid Iaráin an Hizbullah d’fhonn faoin rialtas choirpeach s’acu bonn a chur.

Tá údar na triobloidí chomh maith ag muintir na Palaistine agus is a gceannairí anghearr-radharcacha bhí ag mhilleadh na seansanna fhéin s’acu.

Bhíd Éire agus an Ríocht Aointaithe tabhairt sampla an dóigh is féidir le dó náisiún atá éilimh chomhsháraitheacha ar an talamh féin acu síocháin a dhéanamh. Níor iarr na ceannairí go ndéanfaí an páirtí eile a dhíbirt, agus fuair siad na sceimhlitheoirí faoi smacht.

Cén fáth nár tharla sé seo sa Phalaistín nó sa Liobáin?

Tá tuillte ar muintir an Iosrael, na Palaistíne agus na Liobháin ceannairí nach drongadóirí iad, agus sochaidhithe oscailte agus saoir ón mbolscaireacht gangaideach, iad i ndoirse a chuireann.

Cibé a bhfuil cluasa chun éisteachta acu, éistfidís.

  34. It’s actually crazy the extent to which its gone in Ireland.

We have the least news avenues, least intelligence sources, furthest removed geographically and politically, least insight, and yet swathes of the population are completely consumed by absolute vitriol and blind biases.

Yesterday in Dublin Hamas and Hezbollah flags were flown openly in public while people chanted “Bomb Tel Aviv to the Ground” and “Burn the Settlers”. We have elected politicians denying Israel’s right to exist on national TV, without any pushback. Irish Jews are being regularly targeted with abuse and antisemitism. Our politicians and media are too pathetic to pushback or call out that violence shouldn’t be met with more hate, so the wave of hate continues.

Protests that were once proclaimed to be for peace have lost the veneer of such, they’re just hate marches.

    Sources re the protests yesterday:

  35. I mean, if those “peacekeepers” act as human shields for permanent terrorist attacks, why is it “outrageous” to ask them to leave the area for their own safety?

  36. Israel didn’t threaten any UN personnel. It’s just a fake headline like so many others. UN were asked to evacuate their positions because an attack will come and they could get hurt. If that happened the same folks will be happy to scream that Israel hurt UN personnel.

  37. Ireland has always been anti imperialist and much of this stems from that but they don’t consider that the other side is lobbying rockets all the time and are not innocent in this matter. They have also been pro-russian. Just today an Irish MP was outed as being on Russian pay.

    [https://www.thetimes.com/world/ireland-world/article/honeytrapped-irish-politician-spied-for-russia-during-brexit-saga-k5wn7sfb2](https://www.thetimes.com/world/ireland-world/article/honeytrapped-irish-politician-spied-for-russia-during-brexit-saga-k5wn7sfb2)

Ireland with hardly any military and setup as a tax heaven is like libertarians who take advantage of roads, medical, internet but don’t want to be part of the society and want less govt. It’s easy to always have a high road when you have a population of <10Million and requires no major involvement / friction in world affairs. They have always benefited with NATO around them in terms of security. Hypocritical.

  38. Honestly I’m stating to get really annoyed by Ireland’s constant support for terrorism and anti-Semitism. As an Irish American I find it embarrassing. Just because the IRA are the “good guys” (in reality they were mainly thugs no better than the “Black and Tans” who opposed them) of Irish history doesn’t mean Hamas, Hezbollah, etc are the good guys as well.

  39. They are not UN peacekeepers, they are UN observers. Not sure how much they reported from Hezbollah activities..

  40. Michael D is the most based world leader out there.

Bibi the war criminal and his cronies are advocating raping prisoners.

Israeli’s: am I wrong? No, it’s the rest of the world that is wrong.

Israeli government has stained every single Israeli for generations to come with these continued murderous campaigns, these actions will remain with Israelis and hinder them outside of their country for decades.
