5. You can look at the engine on the back. Exhaust into clean air, totally exposed. Nice round metal. Looks as good on radar as it looks on a picture.

   I can even imagine the engine being the culprit… perhaps Russia simply reused an existing engine of theirs and that one popped up on their Su-57's pilot radar and he thought we have no planes in the area, that must be a Ukrainian flying in old soviet plane.

10. @CombatVeteranReacts Being in the air does in fact make a difference for jamming. With clear line of sight, communication between aircraft can use Optical Communication, which is much harder to jam, if it's possible at all. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_wireless_communications

13. Three things Paul.
    1. Stealth doesn't mean perfectly invisible to radar. It just returns less energy so at some range the radar return will have enough energy to be detected. Stealth just makes that detection range shorter.
    2. If you have a human operated aircraft be the conductor of drones, he is flying with them and therefore much closer than a ground station ever would be. With this close range it is MUCH harder for the enemy to jam as it would need to even stronger transmitted signals than the command aircraft to overwhelm and jam – think having headphones on while in a concert, you need a heap more sound to muffle what you hear through your headphones.
    3. Using the wing to push an aircraft off course was exaclty how the british pushed V1 rockets from germany off course during WWII. They put their wing near (not touching) the V1 and the aerodynamic effects would disturb it and cause it to steer off course.

28. A real autonomous drone can make decisions without human intervention. Get them high res cameras for navigation and they don’t even need accurate gps. And Russia can’t do any of this.

31. If this "drone" can be shot down by another aircraft then it means the drone is visible on the other aircraft's radar allowing a lock onto the drone and fire a missile at it. If it can be seen by an aircraft then a ground level radar can probably see it too. So much for Russian stealth technology. 😂
