Musk is a proponent of the [Dark Enlightenment](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Enlightenment), which is basically a theory that you can topple democracy by artificially creating huge crises, and then tricking the masses into allowing democracy to be taken over by billionaires…who will then replace the government with a feudal system ruled by billionaire kings. Instead of states run by governors, CEOs own the land and control all the people in it.
JD Vance’s sugar daddy (Peter Theil) wrote the Dark Enlightenment essay in 2016. The same year Trump got elected.
Of course it’s phony populism. But they’ve also been pretty clear what they’re trying to do, because they’ve been telling us this entire time.
