Russian jet passes within feet of US plane

The US has criticised Russia for an “unprofessional” manoeuvre that saw a Russian fighter jet pass within feet of an American plane.

The incident happened when US aircraft intercepted their Russian counterparts high above Alaska.

The US regularly carries out aerial intercepts of Russian aircraft in international airspace near Alaska.

“The conduct of one Russian Su-35 was unsafe, unprofessional, and endangered all – not what you’d see in a professional air force,” Air Force general Gregory Guillot said in a statement posted on X.

  1. Awe, isn't that cute, the russian pilot wanted to show off to the Americans. Probably only had 3 weeks training before being let loose in the jet

  2. Shouldn't the headline be a US fighter jet approached Russian bommer in international air space and is warned to back of by Russian fighter

  3. The qustion is why the f16 was there in the first place . The us had no rigth to follow the russian bomber the russian figther jet was saying nicelly go away . Air to air language

  4. Just Googled Alaskan air identification zone and found out it has no legal basis and includes international airspace stretching to kilometres from the Russian coast. Looks like the Yanks entered the Russkies' own unilaterally declared ADIZ and got FAFOed.😂
