  1. >After this poll was taken (but before it’s release), Orban did actually announce a split. The main cause of the split was a bitter leadership dispute between the two wings of the party. The actual policy differences between the two parties seems minimal.

    >Overall Orban is slightly more socially conservative, and opposed the PNL’s alliance with PSD from the start (it lasted from 2011 to 2014).

Something to take in mind is that the poll was ordered by APP which is Dragnea’s new party. That means you should take it with a grain of salt. On the other hand the poll shouldn’t be considered fabricated on the get go since it was done by a magazine press and not by his team, so while the fabrication may be there, it’s not certain.

  2. For people not familiar with Romanian politics (this including most of Romanian redditors).

Gazeta Civica is an obscure site ran by two USR fans that promote fake polls and only USR-favorable news. The fact that it would promote the view that PNL is at 3% while having the leadership of the country and a lot of cities and towns under their control is moronic, to say the least.

Btw, if you read the original article, you’d see that there are no identifying data for that poll – it’s basically fake news.
