It should be noted that until this summer, Milan was first in spending but Napoli spent so much this summer that it jumped to first place. Nearly half of Napoli’s total net spending for the last 6 years happened this summer.
Have to take into consideration the model of Inter. They bought some good players on free transfer or low transfer fees with the promise of higher wages. The likes of Calhanoglu, Lautaro, Pavard, Sommer, and Thuram are examples of it. While our transfer spend has been decent, our focus should now shift on retaining the good players with better wages.
