  2. Mijatovic. He scored the goal to win ala Séptima. Words cannot explain how important winning that game was for Real Madrid and it’s history

  6. I know Mijatovic for the 7th CL goal.
    That CL probably was the most important ever, since the last CL RM won had been on black and white (60s). They still talk about “la septima de Mijatovic” on football TV.

    Also, Mijatovic totally devastated the relationship between Real and Valencia. That is why they haven’t sold them any player ever since (like Silva or Villa …).

    Remarkably, the same situation happened with Deportivo, Barca and Rivaldo (Barca wanted manuel pablo, luque …)

    I know Suker mainly for dating Ana Obregon, although I know he was a pretty good goalscorer, Croatia’s GOAT and had a great run in France 98.

    I was born in the early 90s so I actually belong to the generation that followed up.

  8. In general, Suker was probably the better player.

    But for Real Madrid, it doesn’t even come close. It’s not even a stretch to say that the goal for the Septima is one of the most important goals in the club history.

    Remember, at that time we didn’t win a UCL whenever we wanted. It was 32 years without a UCL.. We weren’t seen as the greatest club in world history. And then the Septima happened, and two more in a few years, the galacticos, and the rest is history.

    Who knows if the club would be what it is now without that one goal.

  13. It’s hard to take. Mija was a great scorer and he will be remembered for that winning goal in 98 for La Séptima. But Suker was a killer. He would score almost every time. Both are legendary in my opinion. They were my heroes before Cristiano came to Madrid.
