Energy prices are skyrocketing. It’s game over for gas | View

  1. I hate the greens so much. 20 years wasted on renewable nonsense that could have been used to build nuclear power plants. Now people, poor people, will have to choose between food and heat.

  2. > Our leaders’ choices have kept Europe dependent on unreliable, unsustainable, expensive fossil fuels, especially gas

Make no mistake, the “greens” haven’t been huffing any gas to be this incredibly dumb, their actions are deliberate and they know exactly what they are doing and they will do the same thing to the “solutions” they are vaguely outlining.
Europe has multiple fossil fuel companies across the continent and every single one has been stonewalled, railroaded and ratfucked by “community backlash” when they wanted to develop gas projects for European energy safety by these “greens”.
Same thing for nuclear energy (that emits ZERO CARBON DIOXIDE), the difference is that those projects have far bigger upfront costs and smaller operating margins so energy companies aren’t even trying to build them anymore.

They will do and indeed are doing the exact same thing to the companies that are part of their “solutions”:
They block copper mines so the most abundantly needed material for electrification can’t be secured and has to be imported from countries that produce it with far more pollution and as the world moves toward electrification copper prices will only increase and supply become ever more constrained.
Rare earth mines are blocked everywhere, these are extremely scarce and expensive raw materials that modern batteries and electric motors can not be built without, virtually all of it has to be imported from China that produce it with far more pollution than European companies would in European jurisdictions.
They are blocking the car factory of the only car company in the world who wanted and did make EVs, Tesla in Germany, despite becrying ICE cars with their every breath.

These people are not interested in solutions, they do not want to fix any issues and they most certainly do not care about “the most vulnerable” they keep trotting out for their theatrics, who the cost of their meddling dis-proportionally falls upon.
They want to destroy out of resentment, they have no shame and take zero responsibility for any of their actions.

When the currently operating European nuclear plants retire there will be an energy crisis that this continent has never seen and the “greens” will blame everyone but themselves. Even still they will continue to block every copper project even in the midst of the biggest global copper price run-up and European electrification will stall because of that: No fossil fuels, no nuclear and no electricity allowed, because the only thing that motivates them is resentment and you will be the one eating the costs of that.

  3. How about increasing number of renewables and storing over-production of energy during their peaks in form of hydrogen? Though of course not hydrogen from gas but from water, I heard that hydrogen storage improved in recent years, but is it feasible to perform electrolysis of water on industrial scale? If I recall correctly energy efficiency of such process is around 75%,so not bad, but I don’t know how much using sea water complicates things, how feasible is power generation using hydrogen etc. Could it be a better energy storage than pumped hydroelectricity?

  4. Can’t lower the cost of alternatives to meet expectations? Then create conditions causing the primary energy sources to increase in price. See it’s on par now, voila.

  5. Gazprom is gonna squeeze you until you squeal. They are not your friends, and the green parties are their proxies.
