While I am sure many home-seekers who waited, will be very happy with the new measure to boos real estate sales (https://www.chd.lu/fr/node/2558), I am not sure if this is really fair for the ones that purchased and squezzed themselves financially just a few months ago (June), like myself….
I feel like an idiot now.
Despite lower property prices, this has been a huge investment for us.
I am sure, I am not the only one… This is highly disappointing. I am conscious they couldn't include everyone, but they should thought about people that bought just recently.

Sometimes it is like that… as someone who has bought a house just before interest rates exploded and housing values dropped, I wish I had lost only 3% (of the land value for VEFA, usually)…
I suggest you “count your blessings”, as the Americans say.
Don’t worry, the difference will just be added on top of the sales price.
Wait so you don’t want to bear the cost of up keeping the status of Luxembourgish real estate market as a foreign investment opportunity?
You should be happy that you are contributing with your income into keeping the system alive and maintaining the upward trend of land value increase for the natives. You thought the legislation is done for mere mortals like yourself?
