German spy chiefs warn that Putin sees Germany as Russia’s enemy | DW News

German intelligence chiefs have warned that Russia is ramping up its efforts to carry out acts of sabotage since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. German domestic intelligence chief Thomas Haldenwang cited a near-miss in July involving a DHL cargo plane and a parcel rigged with an incendiary device. The package burst into flames on the ground before it could be loaded into the plane. Haldenwang called it a ‘lucky accident’ that the package did not cause the plane to crash. Security agencies have been on high alert since the incident at DHL’s logistics hub in Leipzig.
German spy chiefs assert that Russia has focused its espionage efforts on Germany’s weapons deliveries to Ukraine. Bruno Kahl, head of Germany’s intelligence service, alleges that Russia could launch an attack against NATO by 2030

  6. Russia is a large empty landmass. Population: 144.2 million and dwindling. EU Population: 449.2 million and US population: 333.3 million. BBC said it will take Russia over 10 years to rebuild its military.
    "In 2024, NATO members are collectively spending approximately $1.47 trillion on defense". Russia spent $84bn (USD) for 2023.
    If Europe wants to worry about something then okay, have at it. Russia is a paper tiger that was left out in the rain. So don't spend to much time hiding under your bed.

But to be honest why would Russia want to attack Germany, this fear mongering is accelerated by politicians to still money from their civilians disguising it like we are over spending on military to prepare for a non existing war. Historically Russia doesn't have that colonial doctrine, their doctrine depends on their future survival as they know the West's intentions and dreams to weaken and partition Russia into 70 countries

  20. Very funny EU leaders, . So if I understand this news correctly, a critical infrastructure of Germany worth over 10 billion euros was sabotaged. Germany couldn't take any deterrent step, plus other Economic sabotage that was carried out by Germany by applying sanctions issued by somebody else from another country but those were not sabotage, but Russia, whom Germany had sworn to ensure a strategic defeat and have followed it with actions, even though Russia had not done anything remotely or directly to Germany, when they retaliate that's what is considered to be a Sabotage.

  34. It is normal as we have actually picked a side, and during a conflict counter attacks has to be expected.

    Worse is the Russian infiltration, and cooperation with Western Far Right Nationalist organizations, and far right political parties.

    These are on the move, and will break down the European cooperation, and subvert EU and NATO.

    Russia would loose a conflict with the West even if the US should withdraw if Trump and US far right nationalists win.

  35. Whether Russia attacks Germany or not in the future is irrelevant. Today we should uphold & preserve the UN rule of law which Russia continues to violate. Those Russian annexations & referendum conducted at gunpoint on UN member neighbors & areas outside of Kremlin jurisdiction are violations of the UN Charter chapter 7 article 51

The one that was alleged by DW and other western media outlets back in March 2022 to have run out of tanks, planes, missiles, soldiers and officers, and whose economy was about to collapse. Also the one that is now allegedly preparing, we’re being told by the same media outlets, to attack NATO (i.e. the strongest military alliance in the world that has numerous bases close to Russia’s border) by 2030.     Brics passed the g20 3 months ago in terms of global monetary transactions !

    Thee are now 2 financial globally systems , and these military and spy types better co/ ordinate with the ECB etc and work out how they are going to tackle this , because this is the root of the mitigation of Russian military funding .

    Russia is going to increase its military and economic ties with Brics and Brics is expanding rapidly .

  42. Obviously Germany sets a very high bar for spies. No one but these highly qualified spies would suss out that "…Putin sees Germany as Russia's enemy…". Did these spies work out who bombed the Nord Stream pipelines ? Germans should feel very safe with spies of such calibers to look after their security.
