The data is available via Kontur.io. The population density is saved into hexagons and when its in Blender you just need to crank up the height in the zone axis to make it more visible. I am really baffled how empty east germany is, even 30years after the Berlin Wall. The DACH area is highly populated

  1. The Swiss mountains are totally upside down now, thanks to those population density peaks in the lowlands!

  2. would be interesting to see a comparison with france.

    common wisdom suggests it should be much more centralised around paris but it would be cool to see if it holds true

  3. I refuse to accept anything north of Bavaria in the DACH-region

  4. There was some post that a very high % of the population lives along the A1/Geneva-Berne-Zurich-St. Gallen. It‘s very facinating
