4. The one that gets me is how Trump insists tariffs are just a tax on foreign countries, which doesn’t affect trade or come with any side effects, like inflation or trade wars. If a cheat code like that was available, don’t you think a previous president would have been all over it? Does his staff not understand what a tariff is? My conclusion is that they must know, but figure the base is dumb enough to swallow it.

   I’d love it if China was paying for child care, or Mexico was paying for border security. Let Germany pick up our defense spending, and France pay for our highways. Sounds good to me.
