Russia claims small victory after intense fight on Ukraine’s frontline

Russia claimed that it captured a mortar battery in the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic and turned the weapon in recruiting Ukrainian forces.

The POV-style footage shows a Russian soldier on the battlefield liaising with command and opening fire as explosions take place nearby.

The video then cuts to what appear to be Ukrainian military vehicles and positions being hit by Russian ordnance.

The Russian Ministry of Defence said: ‘Servicemen from the reconnaissance unit of the motorised rifle formation of the ‘Centre’ troops group, during the assault on a wooded area near the approaches to the settlement of Hrodivka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, destroyed the mortar crew of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and captured two Ukrainian KBA-48M1 82-mm mortars as trophies, using them to strike at the retreating enemy forces.”

  10. I'm sorry, but can you be anymore fake? Haven't you been watching what is going on in this conflict over the past few days? The force which pushed into Kursk is all but decimated and while that is going on, RU is pushing further on multiple different fronts. This just stinks of propaganda.

  27. How far back are mortars placed from the front lines?
    Things must be getting bad if infantry are overrunning a mortar position.
