  1. Barca and Atleti have massively improved in this century. I say kudos.

    Before you downvote, I say this because it’s ultimately better for La liga when more Spanish teams go deeper in the competition. I imagine it helps attract fans and more viewers and talent to the league.

  2. Before 97/98 season only domestic champions could participate (+ title holders).
