At least Germany can point to the devastated economy after ww1 as a reason for wanting a different type of candidate. I just hope hitler’s beer hall putsch doesnt end up being a january 6th parallel. Hitler gained power after. Hopefully trump gets sent packing instead.

  15. Trump is def like Hitler in the mid 30s before his complete takeover… the guy is literally using eugenics talking points about immigrants, has signaled he won’t leave office if elected, and he’ll use the army against the “enemy within”.

    I mean if that doesn’t make you a bit uncomfortable then I don’t know what to tell you.

  16. Younger me struggled to understand how so many people got behind Hitler – like, how does someone like that find their way into power. Trump may not be Hitler, but his tactics have made me realize how this stuff happens. Divide everyone, make them think the opposition is the source of all their fears/problems, and promise to be their champion. It’s truly disturbing how easily people seem to fall for this.

    The way Trump and the Republican Party speak on immigrants in general legal or illegal is nearly identical.

  19. I’m a Canadian. I was content holding a green card in America until Donald Trump and his evil band of racist repugnant followers came to the mix. I had already renewed my 10 year but a month later, paid an additional 900 bucks to apply for citizenship.

    I gained that citizenship this past summer and today I voted early to support the things I was taught to believe in as a Canadian.

    Protect democracy.
    Protect human rights.
    Fight fascism wherever and whenever possible.

    If I can do this, no one has an excuse not to get off their butts and help me fight for you.
