The solar power setup includes six panels, each measuring 440 x 110cm in size and Producing 550w energy.
This setup is at my Uncle's and costed him nearly ten grand. I'm very surprised as he only use the solar with a water pump (connected to inverter). He doesn't have a battery reserve and relies on grid power for household use.
I'm thinking of suggesting he buy a home battery for backup. But he's a difficult man to deal with

PS: I showed my dad, then informed him about home battery system for backup and net metering. He seems intrigued if he won’t be like his brother
Isn’t that too flat.
Sounds like he may have been taken for a ride.
These days that should cost far less than $10k.
I just put in a 3900watt array with a 3000watt inverter and 10kWh of storage at my cabin for $6500 Canadian(~$4700USD). That said, it’s off grid and I did all the labor myself and didn’t require any permits or inspections.
550 watts is much closer to nothing than it is to being able to power the home. That is a very expensive setup to power a well pump. Ive considered getting an array for my home, and priced it out at $25k installed for 10 kw of panels and 8kw inverters
are those hot spots and cracks on the panel there?
