  1. Whoever did this and thought it was a funny joke, it’s not. He was clearly terrified, and it’s not cool to put someone in danger like that.

  2. > “We can confirm that the Jonas Brothers’ performance had to be interrupted for several minutes due to the use of a prohibited laser pointer by the person,” the O2 Arena Praha spokesperson said. “The organizing service responded to this fact. After a few minutes, the band continued their performance.”

  3. Didn’t even make the safety connection until I read the full article. I was thinking as a migraine sufferer, something like a sudden unplanned light near my eyes could ruin my whole week.

  4. Do people still don’t get why laser pointers are often a no-go at concerts? There’s all kinds of things you can use, use those instead of making someone think they’re about to die.

  5. M-80s, batteries, pocket knives (at Tony Clifton set) – might be time to stop throwing shit at performers.

  6. The only time audiences should be allowed to use laser pointers at concerts are when the flaming lips are playing, and even then only during vein of stars…

  7. I think it’s ridiculously dumb to bring a laser pointer to a concert, but only barely dumber than Nick Jonas thinking he’s about to be assassinated and having the slowest reaction/exit of all time.

  8. I was at a Dead and Co show a long time ago at the Hollywood Bowl. There was apparently a bomb threat, and stage techs come on stage and started ushering everyone off stage. John Mayer literally threw his guitar off and ran off the stage lol.

  9. I remember the late 90’s when laser pointers were the rage. Every concert for a few years was like this.

  10. Concert goers are the worst now ever since Covid… I don’t know why.

Last weekend I was in San Diego California for a calm but energetic Indie rock band from the 2000’s (Pinback if you’re interested)

It was a great show to a medium sized packed audience.

The primary audience was about 40 to 50 years old and everyone was having a good time.

Some guys at center stage really wanted to have a lot more fun so step 1 was for them to start chucking trash towards the stage. Step 2 was to start a mosh pit .

I love mosh pits and I love going to heavy metal bands. But this was not a mosh pit event. And why are we chucking trash and bottles of water at the stage?

Just freaking listen to the music and stop making everything about yourself.

    /old man rant over

  11. Why would anyone think it’s ok to point a laser at someone on stage? Security should have found the guy

  12. I had someone shine a green laser in my eye from the car behind me while stopped at a red light. My eye has never hurt like the way it did that night. Thankfully there was no lasting damage that I’m aware of, but for the whole night my eye felt weird and had a burning sensation like it had been sunburned.

  13. Laser pointer douchebags are among the biggest losers on the planet. Using them to harass people/aircraft/vehicles, etc… get a life

  14. Society has really gone to shit if the first thing people think about is a shooter if they see a laser pointer, damn!

  15. I never will be able to understand people who do stuff like this! It’s no doubt terrifying, and one way to make sure these musicians are more reserved during concerts and meet and greets!

  16. No one is making a statement by trying to kill a jonas brother

  17. Someone could point a thousand laser pointers at me and I still wouldn’t go to a Jonas brothers concert.

  18. That’s a really sick joke. They’d better catch that son of a bitch and ban them for life. That’s not funny in the slightest.

  19. What the fuck is wrong with concert goers? I’ve played a band performing live since the 2000s. There is always your here and there of bad behavior- angsty mosh pit, jumping up on stage, the belligerent yeller.
The last 5 years- I’ve seen hard objects being thrown at bands, lasers, harassing performers and other audience members.

It is beyond bad etiquette. It is inhuman behavior set to really hurt. Why?
