Moo Deng tries to bite keeper and hose as she delights Thai zoo visitors

Moo Deng, the baby hippo taking over the internet, has captured hearts on social media with her attempts to bite keepers at the Thai zoo where she lives.

The tiny creature, whose name means “bouncing pig”, has drawn huge crowds to Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi province – two hours south of the capital Bangkok – after videos of her antics went viral.

Despite not yet having any tusks, the three-month-old is doing her very best to sink her teeth into staff members.

Moo Deng was born to parents Jona and Tony and has two siblings.

Her name was chosen after a vote held by the zoo.

  17. Moo Deng (meaning Bouncing Pig/Pork Patty) is the Kendall Jenner of pigmy hippos. She has 3 full siblings and 3 half siblings by the same mother Jonah (her papa Tony also has a child called Moo Wan (Sweet Pork) with one of her half siblings! They’re not blood-related though). Moo Deng is a proud nepo hippo. Her full brother, the domestically-famous Moo Toon (Stewed Pork), is now 8 and ready to mate. Moo Deng's trademark has just been officially licensed to 38 companies ranging from a giant telecom, the most popular chat app LINE, 1 Thai tea chain, 3 coffee chains, 2 e-commerce platforms, gaming, bedding, packaging, footwear, jewelry etc., from Thailand Post to a Top-3 commercial bank. So basically, this 3-month-old girl has signed 38 endorsement deals in one stroke! Surely, more is to come. Proceeds goes back to Deng Deng’s animal friends.
