Prince Andrew’s ‘strange’ Newsnight request revealed by former BBC journalist

Emily Maitlis has revealed Prince Andrew’s strange request after their Newsnight interview ended, as she reflects that it caused him to lose “the respect of the nation”.

The former BBC journalist said the Duke of York had asked if they could spend more time talking about Pizza Express and his sweating, as he said they “didn’t include his alibi”.

  9. England are very proud of our Royal Family I believe Andrew is the Black Sheep of the family and I think many people are unhappy that this man did not face his accusers in court and pay for any crimes he committed he demands to live in a Royal house when really he should be in prison.

  18. It was NEVER HIS DECISION to step back from Royal duties! We can thank the Queen for HER DECISION to force him to step back! We all know that’s closer to the truth! Andrew, of his own accord, wouldn’t make such a decision because he’s too soft, too loving of and accustomed to his Royal lifestyle.

  21. His utter inability to realise that he did wrong. Remember that he was surrounded by a protective detail that entire time. Everything he did, everyone he met was investigated, The Royals would have read those reports. Neither the detail or his family spoke up, because they knew exactly, 100% what happened.
