In the past few days, we have seen several headlines claiming that an announcement is coming up that the SETI institute has found signs of intelligent extraterrestrial life. I’ve had a look at what we know about the rumours.

  7. any species intelligent enough to traverse the universe will ofc knw to not let themselves be known to us… our species is clearly a crazy bunch. 0 benefit to outting urself- all those questions n explaining n dramas and demands that will be made… I would also just quietly control from the background.

  12. I believe any technologically advanced civilization would reach AI singularity before they could achieve interstellar travel. So any “little green men” would either be robotic or genetically engineered beings created by AI robots that have overthrown their creators already. So we are stupid for even looking for them.

  14. Building a Dyson Sphere around anything but a red dwarf would be pretty stupid. If you're going to go to that much work, pick a star that will last a really really long time.

  15. I think we humans evolved to be social, not just intelligent, even if there's intelligent life, does that automatically mean that they would be social enough to wanna reach out to others? of course, due to how huge the universe, perhaps social and intelligent life could really be out there

    An advanced civilization at Proxima Centauri would have noticed us decades ago. It's only 4 lightyears away from here.

I just don't have faith interstellar travel will ever be possible in terms of collinization due to physics. so I feel an over lap of 2 near enough to detect civilizations that also both have enough tech to detect or be detected is going to be incredibly rare. With so many potential life ending events space can produce I can't imagine intelligent civilizations last that long relative to the life of the individual galaxies

About inteligent life mostly the human kind are most unintilligent – its only like 0.00000001% of the human population that has interrest in this and for Their reason eg egoism , teh chosen topic they did choose to get status and progress in the human ladder for a mate . And if you see that as stupid then you should consider those who chose this path as ->Perverse a unhealty mutation that could bring disaster to teh other 99.99999999 % of humans .   23. Remember originally the finding was leaked possibly meaning the public weren't to know, so from then on all you heard were explanations of an earth-origin to suppress the finding. However, the signal being doppler shifted falsifies any such explanation.

  29. It could be that the Aliens made the signal when they were scientifically closer to us, but we got the signal centuries after they sent it, so now they are way more advanced, or dead….or gone.

  31. The assumption that aliens would communicate using radio waves is based on our own limitations. There might be a totally different way of communication that is not even bound to light speed limitations and we have not discovered yet.

  34. SETI guys: Hey look at this! The aliens are watching the same Tic Tocks and cute cat videos as we are ..
    Personally, I would be embarrassed if the alien SETI guys are watching OUR signals, in which case they are seeing mostly the items I mentioned above.

  36. What is the conclusion about the stage of alien technological advancement (either very low and undetectable or very high and we don't know what we're looking at) based on?
    I would think assuming us being average and so looking for average makes more sense. No?

  37. you know about the Sentinel Islanders? What it would be, that they would aknowledge as an extraterrestrial signal? Now multiply their distance between us and them by 1000x at least. We are not even in the same discourse to ask the question. Probably the very concept of a question is pointless for those, who went beyond the Fermi Paradox

  39. Sabine. I’m going to comment on every one of your videos until you research this yourself and make a video. Malcolm Bendall’s Plasmoid technology is completely real. Research it, make a video. You have a responsibility to the public to do so!

  40. A highly advanced civilization wouldn’t be using Stone Age technology like radio waves reflecting back to a dish. Radio waves are inefficient

  46. SETI never found anything. Gazillions of bytes of info was sifted through by BOINC running on millions of computers for many years. Who says they still communicate with radios like what we have and are searching for?

  47. They’ve got to be more intelligent than us, they’ve been watching us and think we are subnormal, war mongering, destructive idiots and decided it best to go round us 😅so not to contaminate themselves.
