  1. Couple problems, the atf announced themselves, also they showed up to some actually sketchy shit rather than some man trying to live off the land with his wife and kids.

  2. I haven't see the movie, so I'm just blabbering nonsense here, but it seems that if the ATF, the FBI, the DEA and the State police ALL INDEPENDENTELY AND WIHTOUT COLLABORATION CAME UP WITH ENOUGH EVIDENCE THAT YOU WERE IMPORTING DRUGS THAT VERY NIGHT TO THAT VERY SPOT TO ALL DECIDE TO SEND THEIR OWN RAID TEAMS AND HELICOPTERS, it's a sign that you're not half as discrete and clever as you thought. In any case, good sense tells me you should retire.

  3. I forgot the gist of the movie, but I remember this was a story during the peak of the Medellin cartel (when Pablo Escobar was raking in like billions in a month or something along the lines). The person portrayed by Tom Cruise is an actual person called Barry Seal, who worked as a big-name smuggler turned informant for the Medellin cartel (flying it in under the radar and stopping somewhere in one of Pablo’s private islands). Eventually, he got caught of selling out Pablo as a funder for terrorism in Nicaragua (big break for DEA I believe) that gave way for the US to ramp up their efforts plus funding in hunting Pablo in Colombia. We know what happened to Pablo in the end, but Pablo still managed to get Barry Seal despite being under witness protection. If you are interested in watching more, you should definitely watch Narcos after.

(started to be meh for me after they got Pablo Escobar, but it’s still a great watch of the eventual fall of their rivals, the Cali cartel)

  4. I was watching this with my wife and before this part I told her that this was Bill Clinton territory and he ws involved in drug running in a massive way. SHe thought I was just waffling.
