Estonia is the latest country to confirm participation in Eurovision 2025.
As expected, Estonia will choose its Eurovision 2025 entry via the traditional selection “Eesti Laul 2025”.
The submission window closed on the 21st of October 2024
ERR announced that a total of 175 songs were submitted to the national selecton.

“Eesti Laul 2025” – Known Details

This time, “Eesti Laul” will include one show only. This means the selection won’t feature semi-finals.

The final will be held on Saturday, the 15th of February 2025.

A professional committee of 35 members will choose 15 songs to participate in the national selection.

The 15 chosen artists will be announced in November and the songs be released in December 2024 (alongside music videos)

An additional song will be chosen as a wild-card by the public vote. This song will be revealed in January 2025.

Each artist, composer, or writer can submit up to 5 songs.

At least one writer/composer of the song must be an Estonian citizen or resident.

The participation fee will be based on the registration date and the language:

The results of the selection will be determined in 2 rounds:

The results of the 1st round will be based on a 50% international jury and a 50% public vote. The top 3 songs will qualify for the super-final.

In the super-final, the results will be based on the public vote only.

A total of 175 songs were submitted to the selection:

65 of the songs are in the Estonian language

110 of the songs are in Foreign language: English, Italian, German and French.

Among the artists, one can find both passionately loved Estonian singers as well as new and exciting surprises, solo artists and major music groups

This year’s regulations were adjusted in the view of the authors to give Estonian creators a more flexible opportunity for international cooperation than before. Writers from Latvia, Lithuania, Spain, The Netherlands, Finland, Croatia, Denmark and Austria, Malta, Turkey, USA, and the UK contributed to the contest.

I am especially happy that there are talented young artists among the contestants, as well as famous artists. We still hope, that this competition lays the foundation for a stage career at home or flies to the top in the world. It is certain that the music scene is richer by 175 songs, and that’s why we do this competition!”

5Miinust & Puuluup represented Estonia at Eurovision 2024 with the song “(Nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi”.
They finished in 20th place with 37 points

Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th and 17th of May 2025
