LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Early voting is off to a strong start in the battleground state of Nevada.
Polls opened for in-person early voting on Saturday, Oct. 19, and lines were long at polling places around Las Vegas.
More than 64,000 ballots were cast in-person through the first two full days of early voting in Nevada, according to figures reported by the Secretary of State’s Office Monday morning.
The vast majority – roughly 58,000 – come from Clark and Washoe counties.

More than 117,000 mail-in and EASE ballots have also been returned. The statewide turnout totals 181,659 votes, or about 9.2% of registered voters in Nevada.
Registered Democrats lead the statewide turnout — 69,126 Democrats have voted compared to 67,620 Republicans, and 44,913 nonpartisans and others.
Democratic voters have returned a plurality of mail-in ballots at 42.7%. Republican voters make up 30.1% of mail-in ballots, and other voters 27.3%.
For in-person early voting, registered Republicans make up the majority with 50.4% of voters through two days, compared to 29.6% for Democrats and 20.1% for others.
Early voting in Nevada continues through Friday, Nov. 1. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
