The 23-year-old, who was not originally named in Dawid Celt’s side, will now compete alongside Magdalena Frech, Magda Linette, Maja Chwalinska and Katarzyna Kawa.

Poland are due to take on Spain in the very first tie of this year’s Finals on Wednesday 13 November, and with the addition of Swiatek to proceedings, that tie looks to be wide open.

If Swiatek plays in singles, she’s likely to face off against Spain’s Paula Badosa in what will be a mouthwatering clash for the fans in Malaga.

Swiatek holds a 9-2 win-loss record in Billie Jean King Cup singles matches, with her only two losses coming back in 2019.
