I don’t understand why they aren’t using the carbon tax to encourage Ireland’s energy independence…I feel like that’s a no-brainer considering the rising prices are due to us buying fuel.

Just paid €99.51 for petrol to fill my modest 2009 Toyota Avensis… I work from home and don’t need to fill it much but…

If only we could somehow impact the price of a product where 70% of the end cost is tax… if only…
Filled up the work van yesterday €125.
Last year to fill it up was €80.
They could just cut the fucking tax on it. Petrol is like 33%+ tax.
There’s no better time to switch to a car-free lifestyle, if you can! Something we all should have been trying to do anyway.
