Consistently more police are injured than “protesters” during riots and the only time police got really tear gas happy (rather than using it sparingly) was during the EU summit (a Tuesday protest) after the protesters surrounded a foreign delegation that got lost. That day was wild though…
For any visitors in Ljubljana be advised there are regular protest “scheduled” for Wednesdays (anti vax – can get rowdy and they try to block traffic) and Fridays (anti govt – mostly peaceful occasionally clownish).
