For the second time this season, Notre Dame is going into a bye week after an impressive victory. This one came at the hands of Navy, 51-14. It was a reminder to the Midshipmen that as nice a start to their season as they’ve had, they still aren’t on the same level of the college football blue bloods.
The Irish had no reason to care about the narratives surrounding the Midshipmen. They’re fighting for their College Football Playoff lives, and the only way they can keep themselves in the conversation is by continuing to win. They’ve done that ever since the shocking loss to Northern Illinois, and they’re out to prove that that loss just came on a bad day, which is looking more like the case.
Meanwhile, Irish fans are in the mood to celebrate after this victory. Here are some of the things they said on social media about the game:
Walker Carey
Notre Dame beat the bejesus out of Navy today in a way that was pretty similar to the 2019 game (lots of Navy turnovers, the Notre Dame passing game looked great, and the result was determined in the first half).
Jeremiyah Love continues to absolutely rock.

Sure, but it’s not like this game ever was in doubt.

Just gotta focus on the game in front of you and worry about the rest later.
