I'm always on the lookout for unusual foods when I'm abroad. Originally from the UK 🇬🇧. Do you guys really buy this stuff or is it just a gimmick?

  1. If you want some “special” mayo for your shrimp smørbrød or your open faced sandwich- then it’s for you

  2. It’s quite good with shrimp/scallops, chili flakes and some lemon juice. I still prefer regular mayonnaise though.

  3. Mango and chill feat well, you can find premium chilly sauce with this combo. One of the best tabasco is made with habanero and mango.

  4. *What’s the deal with brunch? I mean, if it’s a combination of breakfast and lunch, how comes there’s no lupper or no linner?*

Seriously though, chili mayo is well known, and often used in Sushi.

As for Norway, the Norwegian food market is kind of (very) limited, and it keeps consumer interest by bringing something a bit odd into the mix every now and then, and especially something related that has been “trendy” for a good while, like Sushi in this case, which has probably been trendy for around 25 years in Norway?

We also have a “Trinidadian” taco spice mix, also with chili and mango…

So, yes it’s in a way more like a gimmick than anything else… But some things sticks…

This looks like a good addition in my opinion. I’m not going to use it, because I’ll probably make my own if I have to…

Real good stuff, like the chipotle salsa that are in some stores, are sadly too odd for the general public…

  5. mango+chili is a good combination, and one Indian people have used to make chutneys for a long time. Not so sure whether it’s a brilliant idea to put mayo in there though.

  6. Wow thats really impressive taking into consideration how careful companies are introducing new products in Norway. I feel like its usually either new lacrice or chocolate/vanilla kind of snack.
