Interesting place for that clip to start, clearly clipped to make it look like he’s just randomly attacked someone.
Alternative title: Labour MP knocks down terrorist engaged in terrorism.
We don’t know what happened, but from the video, I would go with the guy was a terrorist and the Labour MP defended himself.
Yes, threatening an MP for political reasons makes you a terrorist, even if you’re white.
If he’s being threatened and it was self defence then I think he’s done right to stand up for himself. There’s no context to this video other than a load of gobshites talking shit.
Nothing good happens after midnight. An MP should know better than to be on the streets in fast food outlets in the wee hours. The potential for aggro and trouble just isn’t worth it.
a bunch of twatter accounts who regularly post their fantasies of murdering and beating up leftists out of “self-defense” against their politics are posting this clip without a hint of irony XD
Can’t believe they missed the opportunity for a battered pun in the headline.
Given the history of attacks on MP’s I can understand the reaction. Will have to wait for futher details though to make a better opinion.
He’s keeping the good tradition of labour MPs having a fight alive.
I remember this [classic](https://youtu.be/NBqfuUiBpXs)
Can’t beat a late night scuffle outside a chippy, cultural heritage
Alcohol appears to be involved, MP apparently not inebriated. Downed individual appears to have been drinking or at least is being accompanied by others who have been that are sympathetic to them.
If the MP did indeed assault the constituent he should lose his job.
How weak must the other guy have been to be knocked down by that gollum like creature.
Luckily for him he appears to have no backbone and no serious complaints about privatisation. Starmer will do nothing. If he’d suggested union rights or that Arabs be treated as the full humans they are there’d have been trouble for him
Regardless of what comes before and the context this is not what I’d expect from a member of parliament
Did you hear about the fight at the chippy last night?
Two fish got battered.
Nah, he’s just ‘Connecting with the electorate’
“ Labour aren’t patriotic” they say. Can’t get more patriotic than a scrap outside the chippy
I grew up in Frodsham and honestly this is a very normal Friday night from the looks of it
Fighting about whether it’s guacamole or mushy peas.
what happened before the video, it’s a bit sus that the video starts when the fella is on the ground?
Probably the closest this labour government gets to the working man.
There must be few places in this country where we live that conservative, labour and liberal, from every age, ethnicity, religious persuasion and social status can stand together, side by side, shoulder to shoulder, finally sharing just one common goal…
To get their chippy tea and get it home hot.
We must strive to protect this oasis of unity at any cost before all we have left is Deliveroo and social solitude separating us once more.
This is exactly what the media are after, everyone at eachothers throats
Not enough to judge on, based on MPs body language and words used, suggests he was within his rights to do what he did
Several friends of mine know Mike well, and all of them can’t say enough about how much of a top guy he is, so I’d say something has gone down before this footage. It’s a notorious spot on a weekend for cretins this, it’s one of the main reasons I no longer go to Frodvegas as there’s regularly trouble outside the taxi office.
Not a good look for him no matter what though.
Whether it’s justified or not this is terrible for optics

Remember when prescott clipped a protestor who threw an egg at him? I think he became more popular.
I’m no fan of labour but by the sounds of it he was threatening him , got what he deserved
Not been a fan of Labour recently but this guy gets my vote lmao. Fuck around, find out. Don’t go around threatening people. Notice how none of ‘victim’s’ friends defend his behaviour lmao, they just say MPs ShOuLdN’t AcT lIkE ThAt!! MPs are people too. They’re free to defend themselves.
What is it with CWaC labour and their male representatives ..
1. Has to resign due to inappropriate sexual behaviour.
2. Another has to resign due to being caught and prosecuted for drink driving .
Now we have another getting pissed up and fighting ….if only they put as much effort in for their constituents….
Cameraman and his mates sound like Reform thickos. I’ll reserve judgement until we see exactly how they were threatening him
Quite good to see a politician with a bit of backbone for once.
Labour MPs being scumbags? Well I never! It’s not like….. they always have been!
Nobody in the video is denying that the person who got hit by the MP was threatening the MP, so this could be a pre-emptive strike self defence.
However, the MP staying and standing over the man and gloating does a good deal to weaken his position. In self defence the next step after using a pre-emptive strike is to disengage, not standing around gloating and attempting to escalate.
I’m not sure if he’ll be charged for assault, but he likely won’t remain MP after this.
Important context is that a man has previously been convicted of stalking and harassing this same MP. Could be the same guy, might not be.
Ultimately, we don’t know enough about this case to reach meaningful judgements, as much as plenty of people in this thread have decided to reach whichever conclusion their political leanings lead them to prefer.
