I understand they have a job to do and probably work on commission. But they have made my visits to my locals shops very unenjoyable. Every time I visit my local co op they are there. When I say I'm working and can't stop I always get a horrible/mean comment as I leave. I even heard one of them snigger to his friend "fat cunt" because I didn't stop.
Absolute scum/vermin if you ask me. Get a real job.

Yeah these types are a complete waste of Goddamn space. I got people like this at my door quite a few times in the past 3 months and they were assholes that could not take no for an answer.
These fuckers think you’re obligated to give them the time of day it’s infuriating. They’re so entitled.
I recommend passively glaring at them as you walk past and then ignore them. That imo should tell them to fuck off without directly saying it
Or if you’re like me and they come to your door just say not interested and slam the door in their face
One knocked on my door a couple of weeks ago, explained I wouldn’t be changing suppliers, he was decent about it. 2 days ago the same guy knocked on my door and denied that he had ever spoken to me. Strange
There’s a stall in the St Davids Centre in Cardiff, one many stalls, like animal charities and cancer charities. The Octopus ones are no worse than the others but I’ve been asked by them many times as I’ve walked past.
I haven’t found them rude or pushy though.
Greg and Rachel showed up at more door last week. They kept me distracted by talking about wind while having a farting competition with my son. Then after 10 minutes I realised Kier was on my roof hanging up solar panels! The bastard!!
I haven’t encountered the stands as yet but having been an Octopus customer for years now I’m honestly surprised to read their representatives are being pushy/rude – in the interactions I’ve had with them they’ve always been remarkably polite and helpful (to the point of my actually commenting on it to my partner). I can only imagine those on the stands are on commission.
I think these people are often on commission only, and it’s probably hard for the company to monitor how they behave unless they get lots of complaints. I must admit I hate being accosted as I enter shops, even if they’re pleasant and polite.
Yes, it went like this.
Them, “hello sir, how are you”
Me, “fine thanks, I don’t need anything though”
Them, “can I just ask how much you pay for your bills”
Me, “I’ll let you know when we get married”
I had one ask who my energy supplier was, I told them British Gas and he said “oh we’ve taken them over, they’re part of octopus now”
Well I actually work for British Gas and when I told him that he still doubled down and said “it’s actually a bit of a secret”.
I hate any street marketers or salesmen, mostly charity ones. Near me there’s ones about knife crime and they try guilt you into talking to them with “don’t you care about knife crime”
If I’m walking past you with my headphones in I don’t want to talk
I had one block my path once while I had my headphones on – I let her finish whatever she was on about and then said loudly, “I can’t hear you” and waved her away to the side – She looked like she wanted to kill me 🤷♂️
