The National Security Council concluded at its session:
Serbia sincerely regrets the events in Eastern Europe. Russians and Ukrainians are our brotherly nations.
Serbia is committed to the territorial integrity and political independence of states
Serbia is committed to preserving its territorial integrity, as well as the integrity of other countries.
Due to its consistency with respect for international law, no objection can be made to Serbia.
Serbia provides full support to the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Serbia considers the violation of the territorial integrity of any country, including Ukraine, to be wrong.
Serbia is committed to preserving peace in the region, which is of key importance for the economic development of our country. Preserving peace is a vital interest of the Serbian people.
Serbia will be guided solely by its own interests when considering the need to impose sanctions, including on Russia. Serbia has felt the sanctions and believes that it is not in its interest to impose sanctions on any country.
Starting from the principle of our military neutrality, it is necessary that all activities of the army and the Ministry of the Interior with foreign partners be stopped immediately.
Serbia will take all measures to preserve its citizens in Ukraine.
Our citizens to refrain from interfering in the conflicts in Eastern Europe.
Serbia will provide humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine.
The competent authorities shall take all measures to provide energy, gas, oil, food and necessary foodstuffs.
Serbia will inform its consuls about these conclusions.

  3. >Serbia considers it very wrong to violate the territorial integrity of any country, including Ukraine, but will not impose sanctions on Russia, said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, after the session of the National Security Council.
Vučić read the conclusions of the National Security Council, which emphasizes that Serbia sincerely regrets everything that is happening in Eastern Europe, and that he considers Russia and Ukraine to be friendly countries, and Russians and Ukrainians to be brotherly nations.
The conclusions emphasize that one of the basic principles of Serbia’s foreign policy is respect for territorial integrity, and that Serbia provides full support for respect for Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
“The Republic of Serbia (…) considers it very wrong to violate the territorial integrity of any country, including Ukraine,” reads the conclusions read by Vučić.
Russia did not impose sanctions on us, Ukraine did us no harm
The President added that Serbia, when considering the need to adopt restrictive measures or sanctions, will be guided exclusively by the protection of its vital economic and political interests.

    >
    >Serbia believes that it is not in its vital political and economic interest to impose sanctions on any state,” Vucic added.
The president asked journalists how they think that Serbia will impose sanctions on the Russian Federation overnight, when Moscow did not impose sanctions on us in the 1990s, and when it “saved us in the UN Security Council” in 2015 .
“As it would not be fair to Ukraine, which has never done us any harm. And that is why we are in such a difficult position,” Vucic added.
He stated that in the end, all the pressure will be on “little Serbia, because someone can make a living over Serbia, and not over Russia.”
We don’t need scenes from “Three Tickets to Hollywood”
Vučić also stated that he had difficult conversations in the previous days, and that he does not remember “harder than that night in Brussels 2015.”
“We will fight, it will not be easy, but these are the best things for our country,” the president said.
“Whoever looks at and reads this conclusion, will understand how much effort has been invested in every word, in every word, so as not to harm Serbia, but not to deviate from the truth and the norms of international law,” he said.
Vučić called on the citizens of Serbia to be united. “We don’t need scenes from the movie ‘Three Tickets to Hollywood’, but that we all have one side, and that it should be Serbia,” the president pointed out.
If you’re looking for the culprit, it’s my fault
“For us, people’s lives are most important, the peace of our women, mothers are most needed. That makes Serbia grow, in every sense. This is our decision, and if you are looking for the culprit for that decision, it’s my fault. If I thought differently, I would probably “Sanctions were imposed on Russia. Some thought differently, I did not, that’s the point,” Vucic concluded.
All citizens who go to war in Ukraine will be sanctioned
Vučić also said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with other competent bodies, will take measures to protect the security of its citizens residing in Ukraine.
He added that the state will prevent the participation of Serbian citizens in the conflicts in Ukraine, as well as that all the so-called volunteers involved in the conflict should be sanctioned.
As he pointed out, Serbia will provide all kinds of assistance to the endangered people and the population of Ukraine.
It’s high time Von Cramon became more responsible
At today’s meeting, Vučić also informed Patriarch Porfirio about his position and opinion regarding Ukraine, and, as he said, asked for advice.
“I read him the text (conclusions of the National Security Council), pointed out all the problems that he sees and knows. I have done my job, he is a man who understands the needs of Serbia,” he said.
He also commented on the statement of the member of the European Parliament, Viola von Cramon , who said that “it is time for the government and the president of Serbia to publicly condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine.”
“Von Cramon said that we must not talk about violating the territorial integrity of Ukraine, as you can see, we can. I think it is high time for Cramon to become more responsible, to get a little more serious, or at least not talk nonsense,” Vucic said.
    We have everything
Vučić also said that there were no signs of market disruptions due to the conflict in Ukraine.
“We have provided rice, oil, flour, salt, the warehouses in Shido, Mitrovica, Pazovo are full. We have everything, we are not deceiving people,” he said.
“We also bought 32 million pieces of sardines, everything else, don’t worry about meat products, there is no need for anyone to buy anything, there are problems with the prices of energy and raw materials, and these are things we will try to solve,” Vucic added.

  4. So what’s Serbian folks standpoint on this current invasion war? One guy in this sub said what he viewed is that there are overwhelmed support on Russia, or at least hold a indifferent/neutral attitude towards Ukraine

  5. Serbia is basically russia anyway. They’re just saying this because they want to EU’s support but don’t want to break their friendship with russia. Well don;t worry russia will take Serbia anyway,

  6. The only thing “making it difficult” for him is the upcoming election in a month and a half because his strongest voting base, old people who worship Putin and general retards, would probably get disappointed if he imposed sanctions. Still, a very shameful stain on our country’s history not to sanction Putin, in my opinion.

  7. Don’t fall for Vucic’s duplicitous statements. No sanctions is what matters here.

    Res, non verba!

  8. The title is wrong. It’s not said that “Serbia supports Ukraine”. The Russian invasion has not been named as such, but rather called “that what’s happening in the east of Europe”

  9. With this news and also news from China, I believe folks are starting to understand. We don’t want to see this shit. FUCK Putin. He’s a criminal. Nobody wants to be tied to that sinking ship.

Edit: Getting downvotes for this? Odd.

  10. Pleasantly surprised by peoples reaction here in Serbia, I expected most of us to be against the war, but not to such a large extent. Even my father, who has always been a really conservative russophile, has called this war a brutal atrocity. Putin has utterly destoryed any reputation he had remaining.

  11. Serbia is a hostage of Russia, not a friend. If Russia was closer it would attack us as well. Just like they tried before. Russia has no friends, only slaves. Putin is not the kind of person to make friends.

  12. The title is misleading and is not fully reflecting his message… Nevertheless, the wolf changes his coat but not his nature.

  13. I don’t believe him I can bet the all old Milisevic era folks in our goverment are rooting for their brother Putin.

Serbian people on other hand are more with Ukraine in this. Of course there are some group who blindly will support Russia and Putin what ever they do.. even if they hurt their own families… but most people are with Ukraine. Especially cause we know exactly their feelings now and fears.

I am not a fan of Russia but I don’t hate them either.. but fuck Putin and their puppet goverment. People in Russia should stand against him and this attack at one sovereign country.

Donetsk is Ukraine, Lugansk is Ukraine and Krim is Ukraine.

Hold on Ukrainians.. we all pray that everything will end up soon!
