3. He’s right. This “interesting conversations with all different kinds of people” pretense is bullshit. Why is it always the same kind of people then?

   I’m not fooled by the hosts meanwhile their listeners insist it’s just comedy, but actually see them as public intellectual thought leaders.

6. A political guest is a guest like any other in the sense that they will draw viewers. Just like any guest these comedy podcast invite. They’re not social activists. They do it as prt of their brand to further gain viewers and promote their show dates.

   Flagrant discussed the aftermath of having trump on and akash reacted to his trump photo getting so much hate and losing a few thousand subscribers by saying “good, that’s fine because those arent real fans I want and I’ll get more later” .

15. Marc’s always been a real one. I’ve never been a fan of his stand-up but I’m a huge fan of his podcast. He’s one of the best interviewers I’ve ever heard of only for the way he can cut through all the bullshit and ask the questions everyone’s thinking.

    Then there’s guests who are caught off guard by how he’s not familiar with their work, and I really like that, removes the vanity that can come from a high-profile interview.

18. These people also act like they are being censored and “I’m not supposed to make jokes about this” and rip on any minority group or whatever their side of the culture war is feeding them. But then can’t even muster up the courage to rip on people like Trump when they have him on.
