Only to be sold back at even more inflated prices… Probably!!
As a frequent gig goer, none of this entire process has been surprising to me. I knew that the queueing system would be a messed up, I knew there would be dynamic pricing, I knew bots would be snapping tickets up, and that 3rd party sellers cannot be trusted.
The people I feel sorry for are the ones that don’t normally attend gigs, maybe haven’t for years, and are suddenly experiencing the shit show of live music ticketing in modern times. It comes across as completely bonkers to them, because it is.
Apparently they’re looking to cancel the 50,000 tickets that have appeared on resale sites like Stubhub and Viagogo. How they’ll manage to identify which tickets those are, I have no idea. There’s no way to identify what the specific tickets are that are being listed, especially for general admission. And the resellers aren’t gonna cooperate with Ticketmaster/the promoters in handing over customer data.
The real crime here will always be middle age men repping those haircuts.
I might try wearing a high vis vest and push a flight case in. 🤞
hopefully its because of the whole “ticketmaster fucked up the pricings for tickets” thing. they need to do a resale of the tickets and fix it.
All these shenanigans have completely ruined the so much expected reunion. I haven’t and I wouldn’t bother getting any tickets. It’s disgusting how blatantly they’ve made it all about the money. No respect for fans, just milking the cow.
Surely if there are going to be two people claiming to have bought the same seats, a recipe for arguments and delays at entry?
If they really cared about this they would have simply used the same system that Glastonbury has been using for over a decade.
Easy way to prevent third party ticket sales.
Make it so that ticket transfers can’t be done until within 24 hours of the event, or have named attendees when booking the tickets. Give the option to select a proxy at the time of the purchase if you’re buying as a gift for someone. That person needs to attend with ID on the date.
After purchase, make it so it has to be resold for face value via the official resale platform.
Probably a blessing in disguise. Don’t look back in anger, folks
The more I read about such shenanigans the more it grows on me how incredibly lucky I was to buy golden circle AC/DC Sunday Wembley tickets in first 30 minutes of selling.
